About this portal
An applied-research space built by Memoways and Gamilab, first for GamiWays projects and then opened to people facing the same questions.
What is this portal?
This portal began with a practical need: to inform choices for Où est Ava ?, Plastic Dilemma and the GamiWays framework without separating experience, content, real-time constraints, cost and sovereignty. It brings together Memoways and Gamilab research on voice pipelines and conversational video avatars.
The portal currently covers 15 STT engines, 25 TTS engines and 12 streaming video avatar platforms. Data, sources, comparison limits and decision tools are connected to two public fields: Où est Ava ? — conversational cinema (interactive journey, 14 R&D learnings, back-office, roadmap, PostHog analytics) and Edugami — conversational pedagogy. What becomes robust, documented and reusable along the way is shared to help other teams move faster on comparable questions.
The aim is not to publish a solutions catalogue: it is to make complex decisions more discussable, traceable and useful — to prepare a project, compare an option, challenge an intuition or make existing organisational expertise more visible.
Who can benefit from this portal?
The home page offers three pathways because the same building blocks do not answer the same questions across roles, audiences and delivery contexts. This page restates those reference points so the portal is useful before every technical term is known.
Culture & creative work
Festival programmers, mediators & creators
To imagine a conversation with a character, embodied by a video avatar, that extends a film, artwork or journey without imposing its interpretation.
Education & learning
Learning designers, trainers & EdTech teams
To prepare a flipped classroom: raise awareness, deepen learning and self-assess through individual conversation before putting knowledge to the test in a collective project.
Development, product & AI
Developers, AI engineers & product managers
To develop experiences such as Edugami or Storygami faster by drawing on tests, comparisons and contextual information already gathered by GamiWays.
Do you recognise yourself in one of these profiles?
This portal is here to inspire, offer first information and open up paths. If you want to go further — create a conversational experience for museums, cinema or the arts, explore education or training with interactive avatars, or develop a conversational product — contact Ulrich Fischer. We can discuss your need and how the expertise documented here can be useful to you.
Portal objectives
Useful for our fields first
Start from Où est Ava ?, Plastic Dilemma and the Core to inform choices that genuinely have to be made: experience, architecture, pace, languages, cost and sovereignty.
Make complex questions navigable
Connect comparisons, sources, prototypes and decision frameworks to discuss trade-offs without reducing a project to a single tool.
Pool R&D and make expertise visible
Share what has been learned, what remains to be tested and the limits of choices so target audiences can build on traceable expertise and extend it.
Editorial philosophy
This portal does not recommend specific solutions. It presents options, verified metrics, questions to ask, and decision frameworks. The goal is to help teams understand the technology landscape and make informed decisions based on their own constraints — data sovereignty, budget, latency, technical expertise.
Open questions
Each section asks the real decision questions, without imposing an answer.
Vendor neutrality
No commercial partnerships with evaluated vendors. Data comes from public benchmarks and independent tests.
Continuous updates
The market moves fast. This portal is updated to reflect new releases, pricing changes, and new benchmarks.
Portal structure
GamiWays vision, the public Où est Ava ? and Edugami projects, technical challenges, Core progress and reference points that connect learnings to the next prototype.
9 public pages: vision, experience, prototype, back-office, software architecture (17 nodes), R&D learnings, roadmap and media. Cross-chapter navigation in interactive panels.
Public dossier on the voice-first educational prototype: project summary, presentation video, 3 workshop modules (90 min each), intervention formats and analysis of technical and pedagogical questions.
STT (15 engines), TTS (25 engines) and Voice-to-Voice comparisons, a decision framework, custom scoring, costs and real-time infrastructure guidance.
Comparison of 12 streaming video avatar platforms, a cost simulator, economic analysis, behaviour, expressiveness and staging guidance.
PostHog dashboards for the prototypes (Où est Ava ?, Dilemme, Storygami) — sessions, pipeline latency, and weekly metrics.
Portal presentation (this page) and glossary of the 30+ technical terms used in the portal.
Gamilab × Memoways
This portal is the result of the partnership between Gamilab and Memoways — two complementary organizations that together cover the entire value chain of conversational avatars: from technological infrastructure to client projects, from interactive cinema to digital pedagogy.

Technology engine
Develops the multi-avatar conversational infrastructure: Gamilab API, SDK, STT→LLM→TTS→Avatar pipeline, editorial RAG, and back-office (Gamilab core repo). Provides the technical layer on which Memoways projects are built — including Où est Ava ? and Edugami.

Deployment agency
Delivers pilot projects and client implementations: narrative design, integration, customization, and deployment of conversational avatars — festivals, education, interactive cinema. Notably leads the Edugami project with Gamilab.
