GamiWays

Why this project?

Artistic origin, cinema-web-AI lineage and experimental ground for a post-film grammar still open.

Où est Ava ? is an experimental prototype in controlled development. Public releases follow journey, quality and reliability testing.

Max outside a house in the fog — Où est Ava ?
01

Artistic origin

Où est Ava ? starts from a dizzying premise: what if a virus suddenly turned women into men? Faced with this pandemic, a modern couple slips back into ancestral patterns they thought they had left behind. Fear of the unknown and paranoia lead them, almost imperceptibly, towards a drift they never thought possible. Only the children seem better equipped to live in this new world.

02

The central question

When the lights come back on, we are sometimes frustrated that certain themes were not explored as deeply as we would have liked. Où est Ava ? lets the user dialogue with family members (via video call) and enter their storyworld. But the characters do not merely answer — they question in return. During these conversations, the user is prompted to take a stance. By opening up, they learn more about themselves.

03

From cinema to web, then AI

Où est Ava ? extends work on interactive cinema forms: how can the audience experience continue after a screening without reducing the narrative to a sequence of choices or a game? Memoways contributes experience with narrative prototypes, while Gamilab develops the SDK, API and conversational pipeline that support them.

04

Experimental ground

Où est Ava ? is a founding prototype for Storygami and feeds GamiWays as technical infrastructure born from field learnings. The project owns its uncertainties: they are structured, testable and useful for building a conversational cinema grammar.

Cinema & web lineage — references

Long before Où est Ava ?, research was built on the meeting of cinema, web and interactive forms. These two texts raise the questions that return in today's prototype: how to extend the audience experience, what place for interactivity, and how to think artistic creation that embraces the digital without being reduced to it.
